5.00 carat and larger by quote

Prices include exacting documentation, digital pictures, plotting diagrams on stones over 1.50 carat, necessary for proper insurance coverage. I am happy to grade the stones prior to visiting any report provided at the point of purchase to give a totally unbiased opinion of the grading.

Fees are based on the amount of work, the difficulty of the items and the research which may be necessary to make a fully comprehensive report. Larger collections will be priced on an hourly basis.

Large collections will be billed at an hourly rate of $125.00.

Image of jewelry. Why do fees vary so much? Those who say they can appraise for $35 are not doing their clients any favors. The report will be scant and will not be backed up by any level of expertise. In case of loss or theft, you will have problems. It is fair to charge for the amount of work and research required to complete your project and it will hold up in a court if required. The insurance company will accept anything submitted for coverage. Only when a loss occurs will a document be questioned and can end up having a claim denied. You would never shop for a “cheap” doctor….look for experience. Look for someone who really takes the appraisal profession very seriously. Most ICGA’s spend thousands of dollars annually attending seminars and trade shows researching new developments and trends just because they are PROFESSIONALS.
